Court welcomes a lady thief

An advanced lady, Beatrice Isaac, who purportedly stole a pack containing assets worth N350,000 at a Lagos business sector, was on Tuesday brought under the watchful eye of a Tinubu Magistrates' Court.

The denounced, whose location is obscure, is confronting a two-check charge of connivance and robbery.

She, nonetheless, argued not blameworthy when the charge was perused to her.

The prosecutor, Insp. Ben Ekundayo, told the court that the blamed, on Aug. 24, at around 4:00p.m. at Balogun Street, Lagos, contrived with one other everywhere to take.

He said that the blamed acted like a client in a shop at Balogun Market and stole one Fatimoh Iyanda's pack.

"Iyanda, who went to the business sector to purchase hair augmentation, left her pack containing her global visa, telephone and money, all esteemed at N 350, 000, on a seat in the shop.

"The blamed and her accessory had left the shop before Iyanda saw that her sack was gone, however they were caught on Closed Circuit Television camera.

"The blamed was later captured in the business sector," he said.

Ekundayo said that the offense repudiated Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Segment 285 recommends three years detainment for a man discovered blameworthy, while 409 stipulates two years detainment.

The Magistrate, Mr Ade Adefulire, allowed the charged N100, 000 safeguard with one surety in like total.

He deferred the case till Oct. 3 for notice.
