The UNIQUE skill that someone has quite a natural ability to do something that is hard.

Someone who has talent is able to do something without trying hard.

It is an ability that someone is born with.

 It is a high degree of ability or of aptitudes.

Talent may be for music, dancing, acting, sport or other skills.

YES!

You are “born with a talent” - work very hard if you want to be very good at something

Don't “waste YOUR talent” - people have talent but do not work hard at it, they do not “use their talent. (Remember the parable of the talent (Matthew, 25:14-30).

Let me share this true life story with you:

There is a particular boy by name Aniekpeno Udoh, who was born into a family that was not financially stable, but there was a purpose God gave that family this particular boy. This boy came into the world with the talent of playing football. All he knew right from birth was football. When he was growing, his father in particular never supported the idea of him going out of the house, let alone allowing him playing football. His father never wanted him to engage himself with football, his father wanted him to be reading his books every time he comes back from school. This boy discovered that the only thing he could do well was to play football. So everyday he is back from school, he sneaks out of the house and run to the football field and start playing football. Behold, this was the only thing that gives the boy joy. After playing football, when he gets home, his father beats him for disobeying his laid down instruction, but unfortunately the boy never stopped playing football. One day, there was a friendly football match between the boy’s team and another team which was played at ikot ntuen oku primary school field, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. So the boy sneaked out  as usual and went to the match venue. Unknown to him, he never knew that his father got information about the match and decided to go and watch him play. The match started successfully, surprisingly for the boy’s father, his son was dibbling people any how in the field and the crowed were cheering his son and giving his son a clapping ovation. From that moment, his father stood up and went home. Before he reached home, he branched somewhere and got something for his son. What could that be? Let’s see.

When the boy came home, he sneaked in as usual but he never  knew his father was at the back of the door waiting for him. As the boy entered, father said, “so have been disobeying my instruction” as he said this, his right hand was at his back. As the boy saw the position of his father’s hand, he started crying and said “daddy please I am sorry, i cannot stop playing football, it is my talent and my happiness I am so sorry” the father brought out his right hand from his back, and behold it was a bag filled with football kits, and he said “my son go and make our family proud”. That was the happiest day of the boy’s life. Since then the boy was free to go out for training without fear. As he grew, his talent him to many places and made him play for many clubs in uyo. Finally, his dreams came to reality when Akwa United Football club signed him and his future became bright. After playing for Akwa United FC, for about two seasons, God showered blessings on him and today, he is in Norway playing and scoring goals for Vikings FK.

That is what talent can do. Your talent can take you round the world, but are you prepared, are persistence? Trials and temptations shall come your way, but are you ready to stand firm and overcome all temptations and trials. That boy, Aniekpeno Udoh, through his talent, he has been able to give his parent a new life and he has been able to rewrite his family story. 

What are you doing sitting down with your talent? I command you to rise up and work with your talent, discover what you can do best, then that is your talent. If you know how to talk, make good use of  it because you may end up talking one day for the president to laugh. You know how to dance? Work on your steps you may end up dancing in all the outstanding music videos and shows. You know how to sing very well? You may end up as a super star. You know how to market? Work on your marketing strategies, you may end up getting all the customers to your self. You know how to act? Work hard on your self, may end up being better than Pete Edochie and Olu Jacobs. 

God has given everyone of us a talent to use it and be fruitful, so there is no excuse for you being poor. The way to your riches is your talent, discover it and make good use of it. It’s in you, you can do it.
